David Beardsley

David Loyd Beardsley, age 86, died on November 11, 2020 (Veteran’s Day) at the California
Veteran’s Home at West Los Angeles. He was born June 13, 1934 in Los Angeles, California to parents
Frank Beardsley and Virginia Grace Erpenbach. He lived at the Veteran’s Home in West Los Angeles for
four and a half years. He spent his entire life in the Southern California area, even during his tour of duty
in the Army. He had many jobs throughout the years such as managing a movie theater, managing an
apartment building. In his final years he worked as an armed security guard for many different
companies around the greater Los Angeles area. He was an avid reader and loved to go bird watching in
the Whittier Narrows. At the tender age of 14 months, he lost his father. His mother predeceased him in
1969 as did his stepfather Merle Tannehill, in 1962. He is survived by his only sibling, sister Gwen Waite
and brother-in-law Bob Waite of Camarillo. A private service will be held later at the National Cemetery
in West Los Angeles.
