So many things can be said about him
About the life he led and his achievements
He worked all his life, never complaining
Content in the lives he was uplifting

With his passing is felt a deep sense of loss
Inimitable, irreplaceable
He cast a giant shadow
We who he left behind will do well to follow

We are disconsolate indeed
But we are inspired as well
That from his long life well-lived
We are left lessons to tell
