The world lost a beloved mother, sister, and grandmother, Elisa del Rosario Monzon, on April 12, 2022. She died at Valley Presbyterian Hospital, Van Nuys, California at the age of 95. She was the wife of the late Juanito Piamonte Monzon and they shared 39 years of marriage.
Born in Hagonoy, Bulacan, Philippines on October 1, 1926, Elisa was the fourth among the twelve children of Patricio Del Rosario and Elena Taliry.
At a young age she initially worked as an attendant at the Bulacan Provincial Hospital in Malolos, Bulacan. Armed with passion and love for her job, she honed her skills in health care as well as office administrative work. Her superiors recognized her competencies and hard work such that she was promoted to Dormitory Manager, a position she held until her retirement.
She joined her oldest son and family in Burbank, California in the early 90's. When she became a citizen, she enjoyed the last 22 years of her life in Van Nuys socializing at Senior Day Care centers. She cherished having her independence living in her own senior housing apartment since 2008.
Elisa is survived by her children and in-laws Cesar (Menchie), Ofelia (Samuel), Estelita Wilhelmina (Bernardo) and Noel (Cynthia); grandchildren Marc, Mitch (Erin), Minche (Cody), John, Giovanni, Joshua (Leah), Mae, Mike and Michelle (Shaun); great grandchildren Cayden, Felicity, Connor, Carolynn, Lucy, AJ, Samantha, Josh, Doyee, Brandy, Zachy, Penny and Aaron; and siblings Gloria, Zenaida, Rogelio, Nita and Luz.
Per our mother's wish, she will be cremated without any viewing. Interment will be at the Ossuary of Our Lady of Hope Parish Church in Bagong Pag-asa, Quezon City, Philippines.
