We regretfully announce the passing of Karen Sue Aviña of San Fernando, CA on January 29, 2021. She passed due to Covid-19 and she was surrounded by the brave souls trusted to take care of her. She lost her battle with this deadly virus but was able to FaceTime with her beloved daughters.

Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother Karen, was one of the strongest, kindest, caring, loving beautiful women to ever walk this earth and our family was blessed to have her.

She was born in Peoria, Illinois., on October 4, 1956, and was the daughter of George Earl Combs and Eileen Marie Combs. Karen graduated from Manual High School in Peoria, IL in the year of 1974.

On January 16, 1981, she married Manuel Jesus Aviña and together they went on to have one son and two daughters. Karen also had another daughter before meeting Mr. Aviña. Karen was a wonderful and loving mother who gave her all to her family. We will never be able to fill the space left behind by her.

Mrs. Aviña has worked for Story Plastics, Newell Manufacturing Co, and Washburn Auburn School District at the Middle School.

Surviving is her husband Manuel of San Fernando, CA, two daughters, Mrs. Kaleb (Jessica) Wohlgemuth-Aviña and Ms. Jennifer Aviña of Topeka, Kansas.

She also leaves behind three grandchildren; Brian A Aviña, Landon L and Maverick W Wohlgemuth-Aviña. Four sister’s Mrs. Sharon Mann of Yates City, IL., Mrs. Ed Romo (Mary) of Oakley, CA., Mrs. Stephen Duffy (Cecelia) of Topeka, KS., Mrs. Stan Weatherington (Kay) of Creve Coeur, IL., brother Mr. Kenneth Combs of Peoria, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

Karen was a true animal lover and she also leaves behind her pets/family Izzy, Mona, Fancie, Robin, Cheekies, Guapa, Pelon, and Earl.
